Yvan Belleau

Born in 1958 in Montreal, Yvan Belleau studied clarinet at l’Universite de Montreal. He was able to play the alto, soprano and tenor clarinets. He proved to be a skilled musician and was regularly recruited by Vic Vogel and Guy Nadon, who are both local musicians. Belleau worked for 15 years with Eval Manigat. He recorded Clair et net in 2002. This album placed him among the top finalists at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal’s prestigious General Motors contest. He released Pas a pas in spring 2009 with the support of Frederic Alarie, pianist Luc Beaugrand and drummer Camil Belisle. from www.montrealjazzfest.com
