Higgins and Feldman met in 2007 as mature students at the University of Toronto. The band was then developed in 2009 through a monthly residency at Gate 403. After the release of Zebrina’s first album, Trail of the Hunter-Gatherers (Zebrina), Feldman contacted avant-garde musician John Zorn to find out more about Goldberg’s involvement.
